When you run a check: the business you select. We read that business's public Google rating and review count to produce the verdict. This is public data; we don't collect anything private about the business to evaluate it.
When you give us your email: your email address, together with the business you checked and its result, so we can send your seal and certificate, send the Review Playbook, and re-check your record monthly if you asked us to.
When you buy: checkout is handled by Shopify, which collects your name, shipping address and payment details under its own privacy policy. We never see your full payment card details.
Analytics and advertising: we may use standard analytics and advertising technologies from providers such as Meta and Google — including pixels, tags and conversion tracking — to measure how the site is used and how our ads perform. These set cookies and may allow those providers to show you Meritly ads on their own platforms. You can block cookies in your browser and the site will still work. You can also opt out of personalized Google advertising at adssettings.google.com and of personalized Meta advertising in your Meta account's ad preferences.
We use your information to deliver what you asked for — verdicts, seals, certificates, the playbook, order fulfillment — and to tell you when your business qualifies. We may send occasional emails about your award or Meritly; every email includes a way to opt out, and opting out is honored promptly.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email with third parties except the service providers who make the site run (hosting, email delivery, payments), who may only use it to provide those services.
Award certificates reference a business's name, city, rating and review count — all drawn from the public record. Certificate pages re-verify against live public data when opened. If you hold an award and want its certificate page removed, contact us and we'll remove it.
Email us via the contact page to see what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. We'll act on requests within 30 days.
